Author Guidelines

Text and tables may be submitted in Openoffice Write or MS Word format.

References should be cited according to NLM guidelines:

Patient anonymity must be ensured at all times; do not use patient names, initials, hospital numbers, or other identification in the figures or legends.

In clinical photographs, identities of patients should be masked or otherwise cropped.

Written consent forms from patients must accompany all photographs in which there is any possibility of identifying the patient.

Previously published figures must be accompanied by written permission to reprint from the publisher and authors, with sources cited in the text.

Supplementary Material. Authors are welcome to submit supplementary material and appendices at the time of submission.

All figures which already have been included in the submitted manuscript, must also be separatly submitted as supplementary files in high resolution https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/pub/filespec-images/#fig-format. The figure files should be named as figure-01, figure-02, …

Formulas must be submitted in MathML https://jats.nlm.nih.gov/publishing/tag-library/1.0/index.html with tags <mml:math>. If this is not possible, than formulas should be submitted as image in tiff (DPI ≥ 500), with file names equation-01, equation-02..

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • You must agree to the journal's Publication Terms.

  • You must comply with the ethics statement.
